I always love being able to type those two words at the end of a draft, but it was both exhilarating and bitter-sweet to do it on this one. Nine years, eight novels, and almost a million words later, it’s not just the end of a single novel but the capstone on a storyline that started a long time ago in a writing workshop on Martha’s Vineyard. What a ride it’s been since then.
It’s not the last you’ll read of the Frontlines universe. But there’ll be new voices and new perspectives, and they’ll tell different tales. This particular one has come to its conclusion for now.
Oh man, I had no idea that this was the last book (for a while) with Andrew! I was hoping for at least 3 more, but hey, I trust you to make this last one incredibly satisfying.
I have enjoyed these books and the palladium wars series so much. They have been a tremendous source of joy for me. Thank you for your excellent writing.
Can’t wait for this one to come out!!!!!! I hope it is a worthy finale…Grayson has been part of my reading world for a very long time. Thank you for sharing this story with us!
It’s been a fun ride watching Grayson come up from Private to Major. I had a feeling that once he became O – 4 he’d take more of a back seat role shortly after. It’s like when enlisted get promoted from SFC to E – 8 you start taking a more back seater role because you’re spending most of your days with training reports, getting your soldiers to needed schools, promotion reviews, etc. etc. You’ve been, in my opinion, the closest to home military writers. From people like Unworth to good mentors like MSG Fallon. I look forward to seeing how things turn out for Grayson. I also look forward to whose gonna wear the mc hat after Grayson as well.
Wife bought me the Pallidium wars for Xmas and loved it so much she bought me the Frontline series books also. Can’t wait for it to come out, any idea when that is?
Looking forward to this latest and last Frontlines! Sad to see my characters move on!
Echoing previous comments, reading this series has always been so relaxing. Looking forward to the last one. Many thanks!!
Anything we can offer to make you reconsider and continue with the series after this title? I’m going through some stressful period in my private life and your books are a great source of calm to me.
Congratulations on finishing. It’s bittersweet to know it’s the end of Andrew’s story, but I can’t wait to read it and return to the Frontlines universe from a new perspective.
I loved this series. Thank you
My wife and I named one of our dogs Grayson … I’m in all the way.
Considering how the last one ended, this feels right. I’ve enjoyed the whole series and by the sounds of it, you’ve set a memorable ending. I’m looking forward to it.
Preordered!
I’m kind of surprised to hear that, but I certainly understand the need to change your creative direction from time to time. I very much look forward to reading what comes next. I’m rereading the Palladium series right now!
I just got finished with a re-read of the Frontline novels and, man, I so enjoy them. I’m going to be heartbroken to see the end of Andrew’s story but I am looking forward to your next series in that universe. The Paladium Wars novels have been extraordinary too, I like them as much as the Frontline novels. Thanks for your continued efforts to write, it’s a happy day when a new Kloos book comes out!
End of an era! Beginning of a new one! Looking forward to it immensely. brohemian!
I started reading your novels while I was a Cataloger in the Cleveland Public Library. Those novels carried me through my final years there. After retirement I waited for each new book. I’m glad to be around to read the last of this series. You gave me many hours and days of entertainment. Thanks.
“ This particular one has come to its conclusion for now.”
How ominous. I almost get the feeling we’re saying goodbye to someone.
Please be sure to let us know when it’s available for Kindle pre-order from Amazon.
I’m looking forward to reading the new book whenever it’s released.
