The ARCs for SCORPIO are in, which officially means it’s a real, actual book now.
The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that the progress bar for DESCENT hasn’t moved a whole lot in the last two weeks. That’s because the whole family came down with COVID two weeks ago, and now that we have recovered, we are hosting family from abroad for a little while. Family visits always keep me extremely busy because I have to function as tour organizer, translator, interpreter, driver, and so on. But the bar is moving again, and I predict that the draft will still be done on schedule.
Lastly, I’ll be at Readercon in mid-July for a few days, so drop by and say hello if you’re going to be there as well. I’ll also have a bunch of these ARCs with me for reviewers and bloggers and so forth, so hit me up for one if you are such a person and you bump into me at Readercon…unless I see you first, in which case I’ll try to push an ARC on you.
I just got a notice from Amazon that the release date for Scorpio has shifted to 1Jan 2024…..?
Glad to see the Scorpio work coming out: I’ve already purchased it for the November timeframe. Intriguing from the short info provided. I have read the Frontlines and Palladium series several times so far. You are by far and away, my favorite living author. Having said that, I must say I have a complaint. I am no doubt the only person who has ever sent a complaint, and my heart is telling me that this is an unmerited action: I am fine if you don’t post it, as it is meant as constructive criticism. In sum, here it is: it strikes me that there is too much time between postings of your major works. I saw this also many years ago, with your friend’s work in ,”Game of Thrones..” I stopped reading the series after the second book, not because it was poor work: on the contrary, it was good work, but in my opinion it was too late getting on with the story.
In retrospect, reading your Frontlines books, I know implicitly, that they were worth the wait.
Recurring readings have proven this. I am “hooked” into the Palladium series tightly, and am looking forward to seeing how your host of characters are making out: your characterations here are I think even better than in places for Frontlines. . I know that writing is often hard work, and time with the family is of utmost importance. AS a retired older soldier, my short term memory isn’t so good anymore. I will re=read the Palladium series between now and when you expect it to come out, and that will not be work for me, but a seriously pleasant task! Best wishes to you, your family, and those ferocious beasts who prowl your perimeter.
Do you sell your ARC’s through anybody? Assuming you are still with 47 North, I have never seen a link for purchasing ARC or e-ARCs on their websites.
Hi, I’ve been following frontlines since the beginning, and loving it (along with palladium wars). Sorry if already asked, but is Scorpio parallel to the existing releases, or replacing. Was hoping for number 9…all good either way 😉
Already on pre-order, kinda wish I still owned a bookstore to get a line on the ARCs. Glad you all are feeling better. Looking forward to both Scorpio and Descent.
I did have a question about Readercon, will you have a table there? I didn’t see your name on the author list, but figured the site wasn’t updated. This is first time I’ve ever heard of Readercon and it looks really great. I will have to put it on the radar for a future excursion.
I’m not going to do a table, but I’ll be around.
Thoroughly enjoyed Scorpio on NetGalley and will post 5 stars and a review to Amazon on release day. Descent is what I am eagerly awaiting. Stay healthy and enjoy the Upper Valley summer.
Very glad to hear you all survived the Plague, Marko. Am looking forward to reading Scorpio this winter.
Glad you and your family came through COVID ok!
This is exciting! One step closer to being able to read another work by you. I look forward to the final launch (as I am not a reviewer nor a blogger)!
Not to mention the launch is 2 days after my birthday so I can’t wait to get it
